Dare to be different
Why a NO HANDS massage instead of a sports or Swedish massage?
Simple really. I have used many different techniques over time but found this to be good for you and good for me too (I can’t teach you to look after yourself if I don’t do it too). Let me tell you why…
When you feel that ache, sore back, tight shoulder, exhaustion or some other niggle or pain, that is your body, your unconscious you asking for attention – this is your past catching up with you. Not just the physical abuse we put ourselves through but the emotional “stuff” too.
Now I can prod and dig at those muscles but you will be in pain and next week or next month they will be back – how would you feel if you can feel the same results without the pain and each session seeing improvement; just getting better and better each session?
NO HANDS is a dance of depth and soothing and allows your body, on all levels, to mend and heal in a safe, soft and nurturing way. Structural work without the pain – imagine that – it’s not all fluff and puff though! This is powerful, deep work but just achieved in a new way – protecting you and me.
I don’t put your body into the right place. This is about working with your body and when it is ready allowing it to realign itself. When your body is ready and not because I have put it there.
As Gerry Pyves so beautifully puts it, your body when it is in pain is like you have worn a suit in the rain and it has shrunk… “So what causes our muscles to tighten like this? I often use the analogy of a shrunken suit. When we wear a well-fitting suit and go out in the rain (aka ‘the stresses of life’) then eventually the suit will shrink. What happens then is interesting. Because the suit is tight all over, it can ‘tear’ in any place depending on the next movement we make. But was it the particular movement or some weakness in that particular part of the suit that was the cause of this tear? Of course not; it was the fact that the WHOLE SUIT shrunk as a result of going out in the rain. Rather than focus on the ‘bit that tore’ we need to restretch the suit back to its original shape. That’s what Massage does; it returns the body’s ‘muscle suit’ back to its proper length.”
Trying something new is not easy but if what you are doing isn’t really achieving your goals what harm is there trying something else – no fluff, no puff, no pain, just results.
